Crux Studio : Belt Buckles
Started with a simple concept. Made a few rough sketches, then created a simple 3D CAD model in order to work out all the critical dimensions. Next, I had a few plastic prototypes made from those CAD files. But they were too perfect. So I decided to make them by hand. I made a welded-wire skeleton and then built-up the shapes using modeling clay and automotive body filler. Molds were made and poured from those hand-made samples, and you can see the finished product.
